Created by industry veteran Dara Sutin, a Cordon Bleu trained chef, food stylist, recipe developer, and writer (with an impressive global client list including Jamie Oliver and Gwyneth Paltrow), Cooking from Home was born from her own struggles to adjust to life during a pandemic and as a creative way of supporting the industry she loves. Sutin brought on long-time industry friend Hassel Aviles, co-founder of widely-respected non-profit organization, Not 9 to 5. As producer for Cooking from Home, Aviles underscores the need for taking care of the people behind the food.
“There is so much emphasis on the sustainability and ethical treatment of the ingredients that we use in our menus. Not 9 to 5 is trying to push us all to have the same focus on the ethical treatment of the people that are producing, growing, serving, and creating everything that we consume.”
